La serie segue le avventure di due fratelli gemelli di 12 anni: Dipper e Mabel Pines. I due protagonisti dovranno andare dal loro zio Stan nella città di Gravity Falls nell'Oregon, dove il loro zio vive e gestisce una trappola per turisti dove i visitatori pagano per un giro nel museo più bizzarro del mondo. Nella serie i protagonisti si imbattono spesso in strane avventure con i sovrannaturali misteri e creature nascosti di Gravity Falls.
