Fuga da Los Angeles è un film d’azione del 1996 diretto da John Carpenter. Anno 2013. Dopo che un terremoto devastante nell’anno 2000 ha distrutto gran parte della California, rendendola un’isola separata dal resto del continente, il Presidente ultraconservatore degli Stati Uniti d’America (Cliff Robertson) ha trasformato la città di Los Angeles in un covo di emarginati e fuorilegge. Il dispotico dittatore ha modificato totalmente le regole della società americana, introducendo nuove leggi e abolendone altre: ha vietato addirittura l’uso del fumo e degli alcolici e la pratica del sesso al di fuori del matrimonio, arrivando ad esiliare completamente persone considerate socialmente pericolose perchè colpevoli di aver infranto le nuove leggi morali da lui introdotte.
