Hannibal Lecter é un bambino che dopo la seconda guerra mondiale
finisce in un orfanotrofio perchè rimasto orfano e l'unico suo parente é
uno zio che vive a Parigi. A causa degli orrori della guerra, Hannibal
non riesce più a parlare e la vita nell'istituto per lui é molto
difficile e sono tanti i soprusi che deve sopportare. Un giorno riesce a
scappare, superare la cortina di ferro e raggiungere lo zio a Parigi,
ma, una volta arrivato, scopre che l'unico parente che gli era rimasto é
morto. La moglie del defunto però lo accoglie in casa e lo ricopre di
attenzioni. Sarà quando inizierà la sua carriera di medico che
Hannibal inizierà ad interrogarsi e cercare di capire se stesso. Questa
ricerca, però, metterà in pericolo tutti quelli che entreranno in
contatto con lui.
