Siamo in Andalusia, nei primi anni del secolo. Un latifondista assolda due fratelli perché uccidano i leader di un'organizzazione sindacale clandestina che ha proclamato uno sciopero di braccianti che ha avuto l'adesione di tutti i lavoratori della terra. Nel portare a termine la loro missione però i due si trovano a schierarsi su campi opposti: mentre uno non mette in discussione gli ordini del padrone, l'altro comincia a riflettere sulle ragioni degli scioperanti e passa dalla loro parte. Si profila così uno scontro fratricida.
