Regia di George P. Cosmatos
Rambo è stato condannato ai lavori forzati. Il colonnello Trautman gli propone, in cambio della libertà, di tornare in Vietnam per fotografare i campi dei prigionieri americani. Rambo accetta ma, trasgredendo agli ordini, libera un prigioniero. Abbandonato dall'elicottero che doveva prelevarlo (a sua insaputa gli ordini erano cambiati) viene catturato e torturato da un ufficiale sovietico. Il superguerriero riesce però a liberarsi, stermina i nemici e, impadronitosi di un elicottero, torna alla base americana.
