Durante le nozze tra Sansone e Sadanar scoppia un tumulto e la ragazza muore. La tradizione vuole che Sansone sposi la sorella Dalila, ma lui rifiuta e lei minaccia ritorsioni. Divenuta la favorita del capo dei filistei, Dalila riesce a far incarcerare Sansone che viene anche accecato. Quindi si pente e accetta di condurlo fino alle colonne del tempio dove Sansone compie la sua vendetta. Solito De Mille: una ricostruzione storica allegra, un po' di pelle scoperta (audacia dei tempi!) e migliaia di comparse. Il risultato fu un successo enorme nonostante la pochezza dei due protagonisti, surclassati da George Sanders in un ruolo minore. Oscar per costumi e scenografia.
