Un giovane cipollaro, Onion, acquista a Paradise City il solo appezzamento ancora verde e coltivabile, essendo tutto il resto del territorio diventato proprietà, con la forza, della compagnia petrolifera di Petrus Lamb. Così come aveva eliminato il precedente proprietario, Foster, che si era rifiutato di cedergli il terreno, Lamb scatena ora i suoi sgherri contro Onion, il quale, in tutta Paradise City, può contare soltanto sull'aiuto di un anziano e coraggioso giornalista e sui due figlioletti, Caligola e Nerone, del povero Foster.
