Ripescati in mare e condotti davanti a una commissione d'inchiesta, Zira e Cornelius (Milo morirà, strangolato da un gorilla, prima di poter essere interrogato) riusciranno a convincere gli inquirenti di essere creature evolute, intelligenti e pacifiche, e come tali verranno trattate.
