Hans porta la moglie Ruth in una clinica per donne con disturbi mentali. Lì si aggira un uomo misterioso che compie una serie di efferati omicidi aggredendo tra gli altri anche Ruth. Il direttore della clinica e il suo assistente temono che la clinica possa venire chiusa e per questo cercano di depistare le indagini. Una volta compreso il loro errore, si rivolgono a un ispettore che si mette all'opera per riuscire a catturare il temibile assassino.
