Un gruppo di americani in gita a Barcellona si trova improvvisamente coinvolto in una serie di efferati delitti. Un ignoto assassino uccide a coltellate giovani donne cui strappa poi l'occhio destro. La polizia sospetta, dopo avere a lungo brancolato nel buio, che l'omicida sia il pubblicitario Marc Burton, amante della signorina Paulette Stone. L'uomo, dal canto suo ritiene che responsabile degli omicidi sia sua moglie Alma, malata di nervi.
