Ritenuto dai suoi capi morto in una precedente azione, James Bond si ripresenta in ufficio, pronto a riprendere la sua attività. L'occasione si presenta presto: in una piccola isola del Giappone, l'organizzazione 'Spectre', mimetizzata all'interno di un vulcano spento, ha pianificato un piano per provocare la III guerra mondiale. Bond, non visto, penetra nel vulcano spento, distruggendo la base.
