La Bella e la Bestia è l'adattamento cinematografico di un grande classico della letteratura mondiale. 1810. Dopo il naufragio delle sue navi, un mercante caduto in disgrazia si rifugia in campagna con i suoi sei figli. Tra di loro c'è la più giovane Belle. Durante un faticoso viaggio, il mercante scopre il regno magico della Bestia, il quale lo condannerà a morte per avergli rubato una rosa, destinata proprio a Belle. Sentendosi responsabile della terribile sorte che si abbatte sulla sua famiglia, Belle decide si sacrificarsi al posto del padre. Al castello della Bestia, peràІ, non è la morte che attende Belle, bensì una vita dolorosa, dove si uniscono momenti di magia, allegria e malinconia. Ogni sera, all'ora di cena, Belle e la Bestia s'incontrano. Imparano a conoscersi come due estranei diversi in tutto: mentre la Bestia deve respingere i suoi slanci amorosi, Belle tenta di svelare i suoi misteri e del suo regno. Una volta calata la notte, peràІ, dei sogni le rivelano poco a poco il passato della Bestia. Una storia tragica, che le fa comprendere come questo feroce essere solitario fosse un tempo un maestoso principe. Armata del suo coraggio, lottando contro i pericoli e aprendo il suo cuore, Belle riuscirà a liberare la Bestia dalla maledizione, trovando, così, il vero amore.
