(The Flintstones ) è un film del 1994 è l'adattamento cinematografico in live action della serie televisiva d'animazione Gli antenati.
Comincia e finisce come nei cartoni animati della serie televisiva, al drive-in. A Bedrock, nell'azienda dove lavorano Fred e Barnie, si vuole scovare un nuovo dirigente tra gli operai. Barnie per non far fare brutta figura a Fred scambia i due test attitudinali. Così Fred si ritrova con una paga da nababbi, mentre l'amico viene licenziato. Agli inizi i Flintstones ospitano la coppia amica, ma poi Fred si fa prendere la mano dal denaro. Raggirato da un superiore tramite una dark lady niente male finisce col litigare con Barnie. Alla fine ci sarà uno scontro tra il cattivo e Fred che deve salvare i propri bambini. Per quanto la storia sia slegata, bisogna ammettere che Spielberg è riuscito a produrre ancora una volta un bel giocattolo. Gli effetti speciali degli animali sono la cosa migliore. Come non restare meravigliati dal dinamismo del dinosauro Dino e dalla simpatia del maiale tritarifiuti piuttosto che dal pappagallo archivista di Fred? Un giocattolo che si rompe presto ma che mette allegria. Nonostante la facile morale, tutta hollywoodiana.
