JFK - Un caso ancora aperto è un film del 1991 diretto da Oliver Stone. La vicenda segue le indagini del procuratore distrettuale di New Orleans, Jim Garrison (Kevin Costner), in seguito all’omicidio del presidente degli Stati Uniti d’America, John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Avendo saputo che l’assassino del presidente, Lee Harvey Oswald (Gary Oldman), frequentava alcuni loschi giri della città, Jim inizia un’inchiesta con il suo team. Le indagini portano a sospettare del pilota d’aerei David Ferrie ma il governo federale respinge formalmente l’accusa. Pochi giorni dopo, Oswald è ucciso da Jack Ruby e Garrison è costretto a chiudere il caso.
