Amy è una ragazzina tredicenne con una passione sfrenata per gli animali. Per guidare dal Canada alla Florida uno stormo di anatroccoli impara a guidare un trabiccolo volante che le ha costruito il padre. I simpatici pennuti sono rimasti senza madre e hanno preso a cuore la piccola Amy. Il viaggio presenterà notevoli difficoltà ma Amy, dotata di notevole coraggio ce la metterà tutta per portare a termine l'impresa.
