Stranamente gli eventi erano stati tutti predetti da Rupert Crane, scrittore di romanzi catastrofici. Coinvolti loro malgrado, i giovani Eric e Brook trovano Crane morto e in possesso di un antico dispositivo in grado di vedere nel futuro. Grazie a questo, scoprono che per fermare la devastazione occorre trovare delle antiche statue, iniziando una lunga corsa contro il tempo.
